Dry Application Magnetic Powders are best suited for detecting sub-surface cracks in welding, castings and large components. Dry magnetic powders are available in three colours, black, grey and red. The colour is selected to create the crack indication in contrast to the job surface. Off Shore drilling applications in sea, where humidity is very high, makes it difficult to apply dry application powders. FerroChem have developed specially coated powders.
